What is Redact?
Redact is an intensive weekend residential course offered by Editors Victoria every two years. Redact offers opportunities to:
- experience intensive training led by expert presenters
- share ideas and creative work with other editors
- be inspired by stimulating discussions
- learn new editing techniques and fresh approaches to the author-editor relationship
- discover a whole new field of editing
- spend professional 'quality time' with peers
- network, have fun and relax in the country

Redact is a weekend intensive workshop specifically for editors of two or more years experience organised by Editors Victoria.

Supercharging your business
Ilona Way has over thirty years of business experience in sales, marketing and business development. Throughout her corporate life, Ilona's experiences have developed her solid business skills and acumen, plus the ability to mentor, motivate, train and empower people.
Ilona has gained expertise by working with major multinational organisations, small family-owned businesses and companies of every size in between. She has garnered practical experience within a variety of industries, including sports, fast-moving consumer goods, medical and service arenas. This enables Ilona to 'bring big-business thinking to small business'.
Editing digital content
John Ryan, through his business Sitegeist has provided content strategy to many well-known organisations including Coles, Medibank, World Vision, the ABC, Disney Australia and RMIT University. Before starting Sitegeist in 2007, John worked for Lonely Planet Publications in a variety of roles including online Managing Editor.
John was the founding film and humour editor for The Big Issue Australia magazine, and has worked as a feature columnist for The Age and the Melbourne Times. John has extensive experience in traditional book publishing, having worked for Melbourne University Press for over a decade in editorial, production and accounts.
Manuscript assessment (fiction and nonfiction)
Nadine Davidoff is a freelance book editor and writing/editing teacher with over fifteen years' trade publishing experience. She has worked as a Senior Editor at Random House and a Commissioning Editor at Black Inc. She was a founding editorial board member of The Monthly magazine and its fiction editor.
Nadine's clients include major publishing companies and literary agents for whom she undertakes manuscript assessment and development. Nadine also offers manuscript assessment services to established and first-time authors seeking editorial feedback before submitting their work to an agent or publisher.
