Branch Meetings

Editors Victoria holds regular branch meetings featuring guest speakers on a variety of topics from across the editing and publishing industries. 

Branch meetings are usually held on a weekday evening at a venue in the Melbourne CBD or at a suburban venue. Non-members are welcome. The admission fee includes food (generally a buffet, or canapes/finger food with vegetarian options) and a complimentary glass of beer, wine, sparkling wine or soft drink (cash bar also available).

Members of Editors Victoria and affiliate organisations receive discounts on the general admission price. Editors Victoria members must log in to their member portal before booking to receive their discount. Our affiliate organisations are Writers Victoria, Australian Society for Technical Communication (ASTC), Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers (ANZSI) and Australian Publishers Association (APA).

Advance registration and online payment are required for attendance.

We do not accept cash or cheque payment at the door. All bookings and cancellations must be submitted by 48 hours before the event.

Our Annual Branch Meeting, usually held mid-year, is free of charge for all Editors Victoria members. Non-members are welcome to attend but are charged an admission fee.

All training registrations by individuals must now be paid for at the time of booking with a credit card. Please see below for information on group/corporate bookings. 

Please note:

  • No refunds or transfers to other courses are permitted.
  • Editors Victoria members who wish to obtain the member price must log into the website with their username and password before beginning the booking process.
  • Those wishing to make corporate/group bookings must download and complete the group booking form and email it to the Training Officer before the booking deadline date for that course.

National Editors Conferences

Every two years, the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) convenes a national conference for editors. The conference is hosted and organised by one of the state societies of editors.

The next conference, ‘Editing on the Edges’, will be held in Hobart in June 2021.
