Introduction

In this bumper newsletter, we introduce the 2018–19 committee members and new president, but sadly farewell one of our founding members, Janet Mackenzie DE.

We’ve got a great line-up from the publishing industry at our next member meeting on 9 October, so come along to hear what they want from freelancers. We’re also keeping busy with other group activities, both completed and upcoming, and we extend a welcome from the Melbourne Indexers to editors who’d like to edit an index at their 4 October meeting.

Member Maryrose Cuskelly is the subject of this month’s editor Q&A, and we also review her new book, the true crime Wedderburn.

Read on for more on training and mentoring, a simple but very useful Word tip, and a call-out for people interested in helping put together a history of our society. Note also that we’ve updated our email addresses to IPEd ones – details are in the committee list.

Have a great month.
